At Olive Garden, we want the experience of warmth and caring to extend beyond our restaurant walls and into every community where we live and serve. Our restaurants throughout the US and Canada are committed to giving back to their communities through a variety of local efforts, such as delivering meals in times of need and supporting local non-profits and organizations. Restaurants also participate in various company-wide community relations programs.
Every Olive Garden restaurant participates in the Olive Garden Harvest program, donating high-quality food items to local community food banks to help feed the hungry. Since 2003, Olive Garden restaurants have donated more than 34 million pounds of food through this program. As part of our ongoing commitment to hunger relief, Olive Garden has now partnered with Feeding America to support their efforts to end hunger. Olive Garden also donates meals to help feed local families affected by natural disasters through the Red Cross Annual Disaster Giving Program.
Women’s Business Enterprise
Darden is a proud member of the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC), the largest third-party certifier of businesses owned, controlled, and operated by women in the United States. Their mission is to fuel economic growth globally through access to opportunities, by identifying, certifying, and facilitating development of women-owned businesses. Darden’s full Brand Portfolio, including Olive Garden, proudly supports women owned businesses throughout their supply chain and are working together to provide inclusive opportunities for women entrepreneurs everywhere.
New Restaurant Opening and Restaurant Remodel Community Donations
With each new Olive Garden restaurant opening, we donate a portion of proceeds from pre-opening training events to help local organizations in need. In addition, as restaurants are remodeled, items such as furniture, light fixtures, art and plateware are donated to Habitat for Humanity ReStores.
As part of a partnership with the NFHS Network, the nation's leading high school sports media company, every Olive Garden restaurant in the U.S. is paired with a hometown high school to help support. Every restaurant will host two national fundraising nights per year and provide its sports teams with Olive Garden VIP Passes that give access to exclusive discounts.
Pasta for Pennies
For more than 20 years, Olive Garden's Pasta for Pennies program has rewarded elementary and middle school children for their participation in The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Student Series, in which students collect donations, including their own spare change, to support LLS's efforts to find cures for blood cancers and ensure that patients have access to treatments. The top fundraising classroom in each school receives a pasta party courtesy of Olive Garden. With Olive Garden's support, LLS Student Series has raised more than $288 million since 1994.
Red Cross Annual Disaster Giving Program
Olive Garden and other Darden restaurants are members of the Red Cross Annual Disaster Giving Program and donate meals to help feed local families affected by natural disasters.
