OLIVE GARDEN INTRODUCES TWO NEW DISHES
FEATURING ASIAGO & ROASTED GARLIC TORTELLONI
And a favorite seasonal dessert returns – all for a limited time ORLANDO, Fla. – Olive Garden will debut two new signature dishes on its menu – Asiago & Roasted Garlic Tortelloni with Shrimp and Asiago & Roasted Garlic Tortelloni with Sausage – beginning May 29 through July 2. Both dishes are made with classic Italian tortelloni pasta, a larger version of the ring-shaped tortellini, filled with Asiago cheese and roasted garlic. Asiago & Roasted Garlic Tortelloni with Shrimp is tortelloni tossed with fresh Roma tomatoes and spinach in a garlic-herb cream sauce, then topped with sautéed shrimp. A Chardonnay, such as Kendall-Jackson Vintner’s Reserve Chardonnay, with a subtle oak flavor and light, creamy finish, pairs exceptionally well with this dish. Olive Garden’s Asiago & Roasted Garlic Tortelloni with Sausage combines tortelloni with sweet basil and Roma tomatoes in a basil-marinara sauce, which is topped with grilled Italian sausage. Ecco Domani Merlot, or a deep red wine with strong berry tones, is a great complement to the savory flavor of the Italian sausage. The season’s freshest fruits will return to Olive Garden with Berries & Zabaione. The popular summertime dessert, available through Aug. 29, features ripe and juicy strawberries and blueberries atop raspberry sorbet, then capped with a light Marsala custard. A make-at-home recipe for this refreshing dessert is available at http://www.olivegarden.com/press/. Olive Garden is the leading restaurant in the Italian dining segment with 575 restaurants, 70,000 employees and more than $2 billion in annual sales. Olive Garden is a division of Darden Restaurants Inc. (NYSE:DRI), the world’s largest casual dining company. Visit Olive Garden’s Web site at www.olivegarden.com. |
