OLIVE GARDEN DEBUTS LIMONCELLO LEMONADE
According to legend, limoncello and many other liqueurs of fermented fruits and spices originated in the convents of southern Italy in the early 1600s and were used to flavor pastries. Today limoncello can be found in restaurants and homes throughout Italy, but authentic limoncello still uses only the skins of lemons from the island of Capri and the Amalfi coast, infusing their signature flavor, color and zest. Limoncello should always be enjoyed cold. It is typically stored in the freezer, served in a chilled glass and sipped slowly to savor the flavor. Joining Limoncello Lemonade on Olive Garden’s beverage menu are two new frozen margaritas: Strawberry-Mango Margarita and Wildberry Margarita. A refreshing combination of flavors, Olive Garden’s Strawberry-Mango Margarita is made with Sauza Gold tequila, mangos and strawberries. Wildberry Margarita is a combination of blueberries, blackberries, strawberries, raspberries and black currants blended with Sauza Gold tequila. Olive Garden is the leading restaurant in the Italian dining segment with 568 restaurants, 70,000 employees and more than $2 billion in annual sales. Olive Garden is a division of Darden Restaurants Inc. (NYSE:DRI), the world’s largest casual dining company. |
